Port Assessment Toolkit

Demonstration Tool of a ConceptSample Risk Matrix

The Port Assessment Tool is a tangible example of the concept of port assessment developed within the MarNIS work package on modern VTM. The application is based on formal safety assessments (IMO) and best practice ideas developed within IALA and PIANC.

The software helps the user execute a self assessment, including port data gathering, port hazard identification, risk assessment, accident/incident recording and reviewing. The outputs of the software include hazards listed in a prioritized and weighted order, risk control options, accidents/incident records and printable reports. The Port Assessment Tool aims to help port authorities and harbour masters set priorities and focus on areas of concern whilst providing a transparent approach.
